King Island Golf event raising spirits
The 2023 EF King Island Classic was held at Ocean Dunes Links Golf Course and Cape Wickham Links Golf Course and an incredible $33,124 was raised for Make-A-Wish Australia, a record for this event. It was the sixth running of the event and the total amount raised now exceeds $133k.
With Air Adventure Golf Tours golfers flying in to King Island enjoying playing two of the best coastal courses on the planet, whilst raising much needed funds to grant wishes for critically ill children, the event is a true win-win for all involved.
Pre-event we shared with you the opportunity to pre-bid on a Mega Auction package curated by King Island locals, David Munday and also Heidi Weitjens and an inspirational painting by Ross Perrett.
Incredibly the Mega Package sold for $7250 and Ross's painting sold for $4500.
A mega raffle with the generous support of a range of partners and suppliers plus the amazing generosity of those that attended, all led to this amazing result.
A big thank you to Essendon Fields, Sharp Airlines, Callaway, Cape Wickham, Ocean Dunes, King Island Golf & Bowling Club, Bushnell, Future Golf, Milford, Oakley, Walkinshaw Sports, King Island Dairy, King Island Distillery, King Island Car Rental, King Island Hotel, Wild Harvest, Mr McCracken, LaMannas, Ironback and local artists Sandy Robinson and Diane Blake.
The support of these companies helped raise funds and also gave golfers some amazing prizes to take home.
Given the success of the event and with over 900 critically ill children waiting for wishes to be granted, we are committed to continuing with this fantastic event.
