Special insight for our followers - Building the Ocean Dunes Links Golf Course | A snippet into the amazing journey....

Once the decision was made to go ahead, I had to commit fully to the design & construction.  Working in a hands-on way to develop design ideas & creatively shape the ground, was the only way to ensure I could do the site justice.

For my wife Denise & me, it meant leaving our home & family in Melbourne for 3 years (originally thought to be 18 months!), buying a house & setting up on King Island to give this monumental task my full attention.

We made a start on the holes closest to the main water source - 1st & 18th but then realised, that what I believed would become the most spectacular hole on the course, straddling a tiny inlet on the coast, should be built first.  Luckily there was a small dam close by which enabled us to create the 4th (pictured), our “signature hole”, for marketing purposes.  When the front nine opened for play I would make it my job to meet players on the tee & listen to their comments – all amazing!” Graeme Grant | Director | Graeme Grant Golf Designs
