Tasmania's Northern most operational spirit distillery, local owner Heidi Weitjens and the Southern most Whisky Distillery owners William and Alison McHenry, meet at Taste of Tasmania.
King Island wins tidy and sustainable town of Tasmania in Keep Australia Beautiful. King Island is a 2022 National Finalist in the
National Australian Sustainable Communities Tidy Town awards representing Tasmania. Lona Turvey and Cynthia Maxwell-Smith Tasmanian Sustainable Communities Tidy Towns judges said the overall winner, King Island, stood out for several reasons. “It amazed us at how this community is served by volunteers. Nearly everyone we met and so many services provided are entirely, or mostly run by volunteers.” Mrs Turvey added, "The community of King Island showed an enormous passion for their unique environment, ancestry and looking after themselves and others."
