Heidi's King Island Limoncello is a luxurious local lemon liqueur, called Bella Chella.
This citrus, slightly sweet, lovingly hand made liqueur has a distinct true flavour of organic King Island lemons and limes, a drink that is delightfully delicious. Add to dessert, or create a cocktail.
Named by Heidi as her bottle of ‘Bella Chella’ (uniquely labeling the description for 'beautiful cello' in hh♡ lingo ;-)
Boxes of organic King Island lemons and a few limes all hand peeled by Heidi. Gripping a Japanese bladed peeler, that showed no mercy to the skin on my knuckles as I tackled each lemon to peel the outer rind. This essential tool was kindly gifted by my mentor and friend Rex Burdon founder and distiller of Nonesuch Distillery, Tasmania.
Steeped for months in the hh♡ handcrafted Spirit of King Island and stirred every other day, made a boutique batch of just 20L at 30% ABV of the very first release of Bella-Chella.
It's traditional to serve Bella Chella Limoncello well chilled as an after-dinner drink, or digestive and can be stored in the freezer.
Bella Chella Limoncello makes a delicious topping on desserts, ice cream and cakes, adding a boost of King Island zest.
In cocktails, Bella-Chella can be used as a sweetener that adds flavoursome citrus to the beverage.
