King Island Distillery News
AUSTRALIAN GOLF DIGEST published that a consortium from Melbourne has purchased Ocean Dunes Golf Links in February 2022. The new entity intends to develop a new clubhouse and accommodation on the course. Progress that is sure to benefit the wider King Island economy as well.
Chairperson of the Ocean Dunes Golf Links board, Andrew Mitchell confirmed “We have never seen the course in as good a condition as it is now. Ocean Dunes and King Island is definitely open for business. With hopefully the worst of the effects of the pandemic behind us, we can look forward to golfers coming and playing quality links golf.”
The new consortium brings vast experience to the project and will expand the already popular golf destination into one of the premium ‘must do’ golf and leisure hotspots in the country.
Fly to King Island on a big plane, the DC-3, a vintage WWII aircraft refitted for an all inclusive adventure, arriving in an hour from Essendon.
For an immersive tour of the island, ‘Melbourne’s Gooney Bird’ has been flying visitors to King Island for 30 years.
